“Why am I doing this?”
You need to ask that question before you create
any marketing piece.
The questions means that you need to know what
you want to get out of the thing you are creating.
If you have a website, are you creating it to give
your customers information?
Are you creating it to grab customer information and
build a list of clients?
Are you trying to sell something directly, like you
might with a direct sales letter page?
If you are creating a sales letter to physically mail
to customers, why are you doing it?
Do you want to get people in the door?
Do you want to just let people know that you exist?
Are you just saying hello so that your business stays
in their mind?
Never, never, never, EVER create a marketing piece
without first asking that question.
Also, for the biggest result, make sure that your
marketing piece only has ONE purpose.
Remember what I said a few Tip Sheets back? If you give
a customer one choice they will either pick it or
not, but if you give a customer more than one choice
to make, they will probably pick NOTHING.
Decide what your marketing piece will do before you
do it. Selling, telling, grabbing info, or getting
customer traffic.
Pick one and so will your prospect.
