little tidbit of information to share today
on the Ol’ Underdog Millionaire Tip Sheet.
I want to make a slight disclaimer before I
start…
This is not my idea and I didn’t make this up.
I just thought it would be valuable info to
have if you were trying to sell something.
Here’s the sad fact:
People that APPEAR ugly or too young in
sales material will actually DECREASE the
rate of sales for that ad or sales letter.
There are some fundamental rules of sales
letters and one of them is that people love
to see pictures of other people and the
product that they are buying.

However, most people miss a key point.
People love to buy things that are perfect,
or seem to be perfect solutions to their
problems.
That’s also why we worhship movie stars etc.
…they APPEAR to be more perfect then we are
and APPEAR to have it better than we do.
Well, the key word is APPEAR. Testing shows
that if a business owner is not the most
attractive individual, or you happen to
have a bad picture taken and it makes you
look like a serial killer, you can really
destroy your rate of sales.
Just ask a few people that are close to you
to give you an honest opinon of the picture
you want to use.
This is also true if you look much younger
than you are.
There are some insurance, finance, and real
estate professionals that are just out of
college.
The standard thing to do on many of their
marketing material is to put their photograph
on it.
Well, some of these folks look like they just
finished eighth grade and as great as that
may make you feel when your 45, it won’t
make your customers very confident in your
experience.
Soooooo, what do you do?
-Put up a picture of your kids
-Put up a picture of the product
-Put up a picture of your business
-Heck, you could even use a picture of
your dog.
Have a professional picture taken.
Hell, I’m no movie start or anything, but I
really love the picture that my girlfriend
took of me, so it has become my trademark
image that I paste EVERYWHERE.
Just don’t be like the professor I saw on-line
recently that was attempting to push his
information product.
He looked like he just crawled out of a
garbage can and that if you went over to
his house, he might turn you into a lamp
or something.
…please don’t be the professor next time
you create a sales letter, web site, or
advertisement.
