The Most Important Word To Your Customer’s Ears

Today’s Underdog Millionaire Tip Sheet is all
about ONE magic word.

…and no it’s not “sale” or “free” although
those words are marketing champs as well.

Nope, today’s word is the customer’s name.

A person’s name is music to their ears.

A person’s name can make or break a sale.

If you show enough fortitude to remember your
customer’s name and use it the next time
they come in to your business, you are
helping seal the deal for a life customer.

I’m going to come right out and say that I
am probably the worst person on the planet
for remembering names.

It’s completely embarrassing.

I will forget people’s names within a few minutes
of hearing it.

so, to combat that I’ve been listening to a
really good memory program in my car.

I learned that I haven’t been creating a
picture of that person’s name in my head.

And since we think in pictures (as you already
know from previous Tip Sheets), names are
abstract concepts and don’t really stick to
someone like me… and maybe you too.

You can use this trick too.

The next time you meet a new customer and you
want to remember their name try this:

Let’s say the person’s name is Barbara Smith
and she has a big chin.

Filing the person’s name to the image of their
face is critical to getting this to work, so
you pick out a facial feature that you can
remember that won’t change (i.e. don’t pick
their glasses or their clothing).

Once you have the facial feature, create an
image that sounds like the person’s name.

In this case we will use a barbarian and a
blacksmith.

Now put a lot of action into the images,
like a barbarian blacksmith making horseshoes.

…and then attach that image to the person’s
facial feature.

That’s all there is to it, now you are a
genius at names and your customers will love
you.
