Today I participated in my first topless
car wash and it was completely because of
their amazing sales technique.
Now, before you think I’m a total dirt bag
let me explain…
This was a car wash for a middle school
marching band.
…wait hold on!
It was the male band members standing on
the corner just in their swim shorts with
poster boards that said “Topless Car Wash”
I mean, they really got me.
I normally keep my car pretty clean and I
see these types of charity car washed all
over the place so they’re really EASY to
ignore.
They’re easy to ignore because they are all
the same.
…then along comes the topless band geek
car wash idea- perfect. sold.
Here’s the lesson: Is your business invisible
because you are doing the same thing as
everyone else?
Is it easy to drive by, fly by, flip by, or
click by without even noticing, because it’s
just a wave in the sea of “same-ness?”
There is an old saying about how the quickest
way to get rich is to look at what everyone
else is doing and to do the exact opposite.
Well that saying is not too far off.
If your business does not stand out and if
you are not telling your customers exactly
what you are going to do for them, then
you are going to get passed by.
The best way to create that image for your
business is through its Unique Selling

Your USP permeates every aspect of your
