Oops, All of My Customers Forgot About Me

We are rounding out the year of one of the
nastiest, smelliest, worstest (yeah I just
invented a word) financial times since the
Great Depression.

The better days are around the corner, but
2010 is going to be just as challenging.

Money is tight, people are spending less
and jobs are unsure…

So what’s a small business owner to do?

Well, for one thing this is the worst
possible time for you to cut back on your
marketing.

Many business owners will chop down their
marketing budgets when things get rough and
beef them up when times are good, which is
completely ass-backwards.

If you have to pick between the heat bill
for your office and chopping the marketing
budget, skip the heat bill.

People are buying. They are buying every
day. You just have to decide if you are
going to be the one that’s selling to them.

There is a huge train of customers driving
by out there every day.

You have to be the one that reminds then
that you are still in business.

Like I’ve said many times before, your
customer is not sitting at home wondering
and getting all excited about your business.

You have to be the matchmaker.

You have to be the one that starts the
conversation.

One of the best ways to make sure that your
customers never forget about you, is through
the use of sales letters:

If you send a sales letter (email, fax, or
in print) on a FREQUENT basis, your business
will become a presence in the customer’s
subconscious.

When the customer has that “a ha” moment
and has a problem that your business can
solve, you are the first one on their mind.

You will need at least 3-5 contacts with
the prospect before they will even recognize
your business.

You will need even more for the person to
make a buying decision in many cases.

That is why the sales letter is so powerful.

You are letting your customer know that you
are here and you have exactly what they need
to solve their burning problem.

It’s a critical step to keeping any business
alive and it’s one that you can’t slack on.

Sending sales letters to your current
customers is one of the best things that you
can do to get the highest return for your
efforts.

They already like what you have to offer, so
why not give them more of it?

letter that will make people remember that you
are still here and ready to help, then download

P.S. If you are just starting your business and
you don’t have any customers, you can turn your
sales letter into a web page and drive free
traffic to it using article marketing.
