I Say Lock ‘em Up and Throw Away The Key

If you are selling ANYTHING at all in your
business, whether it’s a product or service,
then today’s Tip Sheet is for you.

I want to tell you a little story that I heard
from world famous motivational speaker Zig
Ziglar
.

You see, Zig wasn’t always a multi-millionaire
motivational speaker that traveled the world
making people feel good.

He started out selling pots and pans door-to-
door, one person at a time (we call this belly
to belly sales).

He would do a little cooking demo, close the
deal and the customer would have to wait a
little while before their cookware would be
delivered.

On the delivery day he scheduled a cook to
come with him and “teach” the new owner how
to use the pots and pans.

Now, this was a gourmet cook that he brought
with him, so the meal was always amazing,
giving the impression that the pots and pans
could produce “magic, tasty” food.

Zig did this to get rid of buyer’s remorse.

He locked up the sale, putting a smile on the
customer’s face with just a few bucks in the
cost of food.

I’m sure he had very few returns even if
people never picked up their pans again,
even if they just felt guilty for not
wanting to return something after such a nice
meal.

What can you do to lock up your sale?

How can you turn the delivery of your product
into a “meal” that your customer will never
forget?

If you want to lower your rate of returns
lock ‘em up and throw away the key.
