How to Write a Sales Letter in as Little as 8 Hours

August 20, 2009 · 1 comment

So, in response to a bunch of questions that
people had about moving their products, either
on-line or off, I’m gonna answer that today.

How can you do something compelling enough to
get people to hold still long enough to buy
what you have to sell.

I mean, people have no attention span nowadays.

We have 300 different gadgets buzzing and beeping
in our pockets. We have 115 different web sites
we’re supposed to update with each time we eat
a meal or go to the bathroom.

How does anyone have time to buy anything?

How do you even have time to read the Tip Sheet?

First, people love to buy stuff and they have tons
of un-filled “wants” that are just waiting to be sold.

Second, people find time to do the things they want
to do.

It is our job as small business owners to match
the stuff with the “want-er.”

People will stop everything that they are doing in
order to fulfill their deepest, darkest wants.

It doesn’t matter what you sell, from lawn
decorations, to pottery, to vitamins, to consulting,
there is a want for all of that, you just gotta find
the person with the want.

Once you find the person you have to tell them what
you have for sale and how it will solve their big
problem.

The way you deliver that message is with a sales letter.

It doesn’t matter if you are selling through the
mail or selling in print.

It doesn’t matter if you are selling business to
business or business to consumer.

A sales letter is a single conversation between
you (the seller) and the want-er (the buyer).

It’s all about getting the person’s attention in
a way that is appropriate to the situation.

For example, you’re going to sell a slicer and
dicer a lot differently than you might sell
professional services.

Once you have their attention, you slowly unfold
the story to the reader, letting them know
how you will solve their problem and gently
hold their hand all the way until the close.

If you are interested in creating a sales letter
for your product and you want to do it really
quick, I have the system for you.
