I hope today’s post doesn’t sound like it’s
full of new-age mumbo jumbo, because it can
be a real asset to your problem-solving
toolbox.
…if it does, so be it.
Anyway, today’s Underdog Millionaire Tip
Sheet is all about creating your invisible
council.
What in the heck is that, right?
Well this in an idea that Napoleon Hill
introduces in his Think and Grow Rich book
(which you can get for Free on the Underdog
Millionaire web site).
The invisible council is the place you go
to solve your hardest problems.
These are the problems that you can’t figure
out on a conscious level.
It’s almost like talking to an invisible friend.
Hill talks about the importance of making a
mastermind group for the benefit of your
business ventures, but if you don’t know a
group of people that can help you, this
“council” can be very beneficial.
So here goes…
Find a room in your house where you won’t
be bothered by anyone or anything. For most
people they will benefit from sitting in
the dark.
In your mind, create a meeting with some
of the famous people in history that have
influenced you.
It can be anyone.
Think of 4-6 people.
Napoleon Hill talks about how real the
meetings became to him and how Abraham Lincoln
would show up late and Ben Franklin would
argue with the others, or something like that.
You are the CHAIRMAN of the meeting.
This group of famous people living in your
mind is there only to work on the problem that
you need solving.
In your mind you bring it up to the committee
and have them argue it using their particular
strengths, coming back to you with a solution.
This is just your subconscious hard at work,
but if you create these discussions through
famous people, you can come up with some
amazing solutions.
This is something that I am just getting
started with myself.
Now, you will probably want to keep this
little exercise to yourself.
You don’t want to sit at a table in the
local library and have a conversation with
yourself either.
People will think you’re nuts.
Also, this is no substitute for a real
mastermind group, but it can work in the
meantime.
It got a little too realistic for Hill, to
the point that he stopped for a few weeks to
avoid losing it altogether.
I doubt that will happen to you.
Just know that it is another tool that you
can use if you are trying to solve a business
problem, create a new product, or figure out
something in your own life.
Tell Abraham Lincoln to show up on time tomorrow,
