Today’s Tip Sheet is all about doing the
easy stuff before you do the hard stuff.
More specifically getting new customers.
When you’re starting a new business, you
need customers and you need them NOW.
Without a sale you won’t be keeping the
lights on very long or have food in the
fridge.
Soooooo, why not get started with a few
sales the easiest way possible, since
you will have enough issues keeping the
business going.
Let’s pick some low hanging fruit.
Here are a few places that you can
go to get customers quickly and easily.
Of course these sources won’t last very
long, but they are only for getting you
off up on your feet in the beginning.
1. Friends and family. May sound obvious,
but there are tons of small business
owners that don’t bother asking their
closest circle of people the visit their
business.
2. Customers from a previous life. If
you had a previous job where you developed
customer relationships with people, maybe
even had a large customer list, call them.
Tell these old customers that you went into
business for yourself and that they should
check out what you’re selling.
Even if you don’t sell the same thing that
the old list was developed around, you can
still ASK.
3. Canvass your neighborhood, or the
neighborhood around your business. Let
people know that you exist. If you operate
on-line only, use the social media sites to
let your “friends” know that you are there.
It’s all about the low-hanging fruit.
