Good morning,
I discovered another great explanation for
something that I do a lot, but didn’t have a
really good term for it.
This is something that will help you get out
of the problem-solving rut that many of us
get into when we try and out-think something
to death.
Maybe you have a major business problem with
distributing your first batch of product.
Maybe you can’t get a client to pay their bill.
Maybe you are having trouble thinking of a new
product so that you can have multiple pipelines
of income flowing to your business.
Whatever problem you may have, there are always
a million, because that’s part of the beauty
with building a business.
There are no rules, and there is no manual.
…and there is definitely no guarantee of success.
The problem with trying to force-solve a
business issues, is that you are using your
conscious mind to do the heavy lifting.
You go over and over the possibilities, but you
can’t get past the “gatekeeper” of the current
ideas in your head.
There is a ceiling to your creativity when you
try to problem-solve in this mode and it’s
called “the thinking hole”
dum, dum, dum… (drum roll, cue the scary music)
Welcome to the thinking hole. This is the lousy
place where too many business owners get stuck
trying to out-think there way to a successful
idea.
So how are you supposed to dig yourself out?
Simple really.
Let it go and stop thinking about it.
Put the idea on the shelf and go to the beach
or go for a walk.
This allows your subconscious mind to work on the
problem instead.
You don’t have to tell it to, it just happens.
There are no rules and constraints in your
subconscious, so just when you get relaxed and
have completely forgotten about your issue, the
solution will pop into your mind like magic.
It worked for Sigmund Freud, so it’ll work for
you too.
