Over the weekend, the infamous Lady Gaga decided that she was going to crash yet another baseball game with her crazy antics.
…it went over like a lead balloon, since
the Yankees lost the game.
If Lady Gaga had been a member of the Underdog
Millionaires, she might have known better and
skipped her little escapade.
You see, instead of barging your business into
the customer’s life, you need to ease your way
in, by finding what they want, developing a
relationship and serving it to them shaken,
not stirred.
When you are out there in the trenches, some
times it gets really hard to ease up and not
want to SHOUT your marketing messages in the
faces of anyone that will listen.
…just look at our brothers and sisters in the
interruption advertising business. They get
paid based on how many people they shout at,
rarely on the actual performance of the ad
itself, why? Because they have no way to track
it.
Well, you and I know better, right?
We are going develop a plan for your customers
to go Gaga over your product or service.
It all starts with your USP and the biggest
promise that you are going to make for your
customers. Check this out:
http://www.ultimateUSPcreator.com
Once you have made that promise then you
need to develop a strategy for getting your
message across, and finding the most buying
customers as you can.
The way you do that is with marketing. However,
marketing plans can end up to be pretty pricey
and that is usually the last thing that a
small business owner has to throw around, money.
So, in order to be able to play with the big
kids and compete on a level that you deserve,
even though you might not have the budget to
get you there, I developed something.
It’s called the Underdog Marketing 101 course.
It contains 101 different FREE techniques for
getting more customers to your bank account, with
hundreds of tips in total.
If you can find something in there that will help
your business, then you probably never had much
of a business in the first place.
It’s not available yet, but you will be the
first to know, of course.
This is my largest course to date, and I know
that you will get some real value of this puppy.
Stay tuned. It’s coming soon.
So, what do you think about all of the interruption
advertising that we are faced with?
Are you using it successfully in your business? I’d
like to know.
What kind of methods do you use in your small
business in order to bring in customers successfully?
We’re all family here. Let ‘em out.
Post your ideas BELOW.
Until tomorrow,
Joshua Black

I focus mainly on providing value and building positive relationships. From there, it seems like business is brought to ME, rather than me having to go chase it.
My business is blogging and email marketing, so it’s all about providing value via my blog posts, guest posts, and building positive relationships via blog commenting and twitter usage.
That generates email leads and then I focus on building trust with them… I never feel like I’m ‘advertising’ or desperately trying to pull the next customer… I just focus on building positive relationships and then if they WANT to be a customer of mine, then they step forward themselves
Thanks for another great post Josh.
Hi,
I’m brand new to blogging and I did wonder how folks made money from their blogs.
I am really interested in how like “offline” business this is, in that you really do need to build relationships, offer help and support and then you find the business does indeed come to you.
So my tip would be to build the relationship through free products, advice and problem solving long before trying to push a product.
I’ll be really interested in what other tips will be found in your 101 different FREE techniques for
getting more customers to your bank account.
Best Wishes
Jennifer
Jennifer,
Thanks for stopping by. Your journey into the world of online commerce will be a long one, but very fulfilling if you stick with it. I’m a little slow on getting the next book out, but I guarantee that it will be worht the wait when I finally get my act together and release it.

Joshua:
Great post! I have tried interruption marketing in the past with a previous offline venture and I failed miserably. I realized that I hated cold calling and bothering people.
That’s what I like about the new style of IM. It’s about relationship building. I can do this! It’s all about finding people, or should I say people finding us, that have the same beliefs and reasons for what we are doing and more importantly why we are doing what we do.
I look forward to seeing the tips and techniques in your Underdog Marketing 101 course.
Thanks,
– Rick
My focus is providing value through internet marketing. I am giving before I get and although I haven’t seen any results yet I am positive that I will benefit from it in the future.
I understand that it does take time and as long as I am constantly building relationships among my customers and the community of like minded people than I know it will pay off in the end.
Looking forward to reading your 101 techniques!
Anna
Good post! I focus on advertising and customer satisfaction. Be able to adapt and work differently in each campaign. Also looking forward to reading your 101 techniques. Take care!
I saw the photos of Lady Gaga on TV (in the UK) the game didn’t get mentioned but LG did.
Did she really do them a disservice?
The Yankees logo all over the world’s press?
Great post, I think you’re right, you have to sell something people, want not force it on them.
