Hi Joshua. Thanks for these five business tips. I especially like the last one. Obviously not much will happen until you take some action. A reminder about this is what most of us need. Also, sorry to hear about that tree falling on your house!

And if a vendor doesn't know his product is unwanted, a handful of complaints would certainly alert him to that fact...

It’s definitely a value-add for companies that want to get customers. After all, if someone has a question, there’s a chance that the person wants to buy something, right?

@ Calli,

Yes, I believe that you should sell your own product instead of being at the mercy of your affiliates and the general laziness that comes with that model of selling.

@Natalie,

I'm glad your AdWords are working well for you... I just don't like the model very much. Most people know they are paid and tend to trust those links less than the organic ones... plus they can lead to a high advertising budget, which is the opposite of what I'm all about. I know they work quite well for some businesses, however, so congrats. Try to tweak your headlines so you can improve you number of clicks per day.

Hi Josh,

While reading his questions, I also thought that affiliate marketing is not applicable in his situation. I'm not really an expert in the business but its good to know we shared the same opinion. lol

I found your blog post interesting, I was just wondering why would you hate Adwords? It is trying to increase your presence online. So I want to share my experiences with you about Adwords and how effective this service is. We are using the "keyword" <a href="http://www.adfscale.co.uk/">Industrial Weighing Equipment</a> our ad is always showing up on Google Search engines and we get 2-5 clicks a day which is excellent! Our service is being managed and monitored by Sprike Ltd a <a href="http://www.sprike.co.uk/">Marketing Company in Birmingham"</a>.

Also note that off-line businesses can profit from information products as well, using them as in-store giveaways, or hard copies that you can send to customers on your mailing list to entice them to come back and visit you.

"Marketing Is The Only Function In Your Business That
Brings In Customers, Produces Sales And Generates Profits!"
Let me explain: Although you may be spending a substantial amount of money on rent, supplies, office equipment, and other purchases that are necessary in running your business, they don’t generate customers or produce profits for you. If you think about it carefully, then I know you’ll agree with me.
