Boredom Makes You Rich?

March 2, 2010 · 2 comments

I want to tell you a personal story today,
something that my Grandmother used to tell
me when I was little.

She said “never say that you are bored. It
just means that you aren’t thankful for the
time you have.”

I will never forget those words and to this
day you will NEVER hear the words “I’m bored”

Until recently I also operated under the
misconception that I have to fill every waking
moment doing SOMETHING.

However, I was listening to a book on CD in
my car yesterday (yes, it drives all of my
passengers insane. I probably have 300 books
on tape in my car and 5 music CDs).

On this particular CD the author said that
it was OK to be bored…

I almost crashed my car.

There was no way that my grandmother was wrong.

It turns out she wasn’t. It was me that didn’t
get the whole message.

Sometimes you need to just sit and do NOTHING.
However, the act of doing nothing is SOMETHING.

This is not boredom out of the fact that you
just don’t appreciate the time you have. It’s
deliberate boredom.

This is a time to re-set your subconscious so
that you can answer some of the most powerful
questions in your life.

When you fill your day with all of the
different rinky-dink problems in your business,
you don’t get the time to REALLY solve the big
problems.

…like financial freedom

…like providing for your family

…like obtaining all of your personal goals.
Well, with a small re-set by just sitting and
thinking, not watching TV or doing anything else.

Just think clearly about the things you want
to accomplish and you can come up with some amazing
ideas.

If you really want to learn how to use the
power of your mind to accomplish everything that
you’ve ever wanted in your small business and your
life, including how to create your own “invisible
counsel” by getting advice from some of the most
famous people in the world, check out the Underdog
Success Formula.

It’s less than 10 bucks.

Until tomorrow,
Joshua Black

P.S. I’d really like to hear how you use your
time to clear your mind. What are some of the
things that you do to stay focused on your
business.

Post your comments here on the blog so that everyone
else can see them too.

Hey Joshua Another good topic, my wife would laugh at this she is always berating me for fidgiting and not sitting still.
Very rarely do I just sit and do nothing, I get bored watching television I think its such a waste of time. I like to multi task and also take advantage of audio books while working out at the gym and driving. Your right I need to take the time out just to think and plan ahead I love the concept of your “invisable counsell” look forward to checking out your success formular. great post!

Stan,

Yes, the success formula is a really powerful tool that I try to incorporate into my own life every day. It sounds a little “woo woo new age, I know,” but it’s really based on scientific principles and the way that ideas travel in the universe. I like a little “automobile university” myself. I did a post about that awhile back. You can learn so much by just using a little bit of your free time learning with audiobooks instead of watching the tube.
