As you probably heard already, I recently
came back from a week of karate training
in Nebraska with our grand master from
Okinawa.
Because of this, he shared many insights
from nature that really go hand in hand with
the business world.
One of the stories he shared was from a
really strange professional animal fighting
sport that people bet on in Okinawa.
It would not really go ver very well here,
but in Okinawa people go crazy over it…
It’s a fight between a mongoose and a snake
called a habu.
The habu is one of the most deadly snakes in
the world.
However, the mongoose usually wins almost every
time because of its speed and fighting style.
So, even though the mongoose does not have
any natural poison or crazy feature that makes
it super deadly, it uses the tools that it
DOES have to win the fight.
Even though the snake has a super power, it
gets taken over, because the mongoose simply
wants to win MORE than the snake.
So, the next time you think you can’t do something,
or the next time you think your business is
never going to thrive, be the mongoose.
Take stock in the stuff that you DO have.
Don’t worry about the stuff you don’t, or the
direction that your business is NOT going.
Where are you making a profit? Push that more
instead of working on something that is not
going anywhere.
Grab that mongoose attitude and use your
particular natural talents to get exactly what
you want out of your business and your life.
