I want to share a mistake that I
have been making lately in hopes
that you don’t so the same thing
I’ve been doing.
Do you ever get really excited
about something and you keep doing
it over and over, thing you are making
some serious progress with your business?
Then you sit back and notice that all
of that effort didn’t really go anywhere.
Well, I’ve been really excited about
blogging for the past 3-4 months, really
making some headway and getting a lot
of new Underdog Millionaires on the list.
However, the light bulb finally went off
in my head that I am NOT really talking
to my customers that way.
I am talking to a whole bunch of people
that are doing the same thing I am.
Although these are wonderful people to
deal with, I am not talking to anyone that
is my customer.
I am just talking to people that want to
build their own businesses, get free advice
and generally spread the word about internet
marketing.
…all of this is fine and good, but my
customers are not getting the message,
because I am not targeting them as well
as I could.
So, that is my goal for the upcoming
months… to market to my actual customers,
not just other people that are doing
the same thing that I am doing.
I want to communicate more with YOU, the
small business owner that wants to take
a ho-hum level of sales and make it an
“oh wow” level of sales.
Do you ever get stuck with that in your
own business?
Are you really talking and marketing
with your customers or are you running
around like a hamster in a wheel- tons
of energy spent, but not going anywhere?
I know that I plan to change my focus a
lot and I hope that if you catch yourself
doing the same thing that you might just
want to reevaluate who you are truly
targeting.
Until tomorrow,
Joshua Black

I would argue that internet marketers could very well be your customer though. I mean what marketer doesn’t want to be a millionaire.

Hey Joshua,
I have been doing the same for quite for time
and I was able to make some changes and
connect with my audience, like you said
the small business owner.
I made a huge change and really started to work on my blog and connect with people. This has really made a difference in not only my business but for me personally.
Thank you for the content. There is always
good stuff here!

Thanks Tommy,
Yep, you are right. It’s all about the focus of the conversation and the people on the other end. It’s critical to connect with your customers, but you have to make sure they are listening.

Hey joshua,
Yep, hit some nails right on the head. Sometimes, I too get so caught up in the doing the do, I don’t do it strategically.
Thanks for the reminder.
