Are You Shooting Your Customers in the Neck With a Taser?

shooting your customers with a Taser?

by Joshua Black

Yesterday some idiot jumped a fence during
a baseball game in Philadelphia and after
evading a few police officers, one guy
with an itchy trigger finger decider to
Taser his customer right in the neck,
rendering him to a heap of fan-ness on the
ground.

Now, on top of the media frenzy that this
may bring about, what are they saying to
their fans?

You better have a good time… or else?

Now, this fan was a total moron, but did
he really need to be Tasered into a blob
on the field?

How many businesses have you seen, that
are so uninviting that you fell like you
are walking into a prison just to make a
purchase.

Gas stations with 5 inches of glass and
a microphone between you and your customer.

Jewelry stores with armed guards and bars
on the windows.

Restaurants with those people-measuring
things right by the door, so the employees
can tell the police how tall the robbers
are.

Have you ever walked into a business like
this and they make YOU feel as if you have
done something wrong just because of all
this security crap all over the place?

Are you Tasering your customers in the neck?

If it’s that dangerous to run the business
in the first place, why do it?

This is something I like to call “curb appeal”
in a business and it can also be true for
on-line businesses.

Are you making it hard for a customer to sign
up for something because of difficult captcha
things to type in?

Are you Tasering your customers in the neck?

This idea of curb appeal is just one of the
101 FREE marketing and publicity tactics that
are coming out in my next book.

It’s going to be huge, well over 100 pages
of nothing but FREE ways to get more customers
from small to BIG techniques.

What can you do with your business where
you have found something that may be a turn-
off to a would-be customer?

Are you Tasering your customers in the neck?

What things can you do to make your customer
feel more welcome and excited to make a purchase
instead of feeling like a burden on the owner,
just like the convenience store that I visited
this week…wow, what a disaster.

We all put up with it, but does that mean we
should run our businesses the same way?

Nope.

Are you Tasering your customers in the neck?

Until tomorrow,

Joshua Black

P.S. Yep, it’s really true. I’m finally coming
out with a new product fairly soon and it’s
going to hand you 101 golden ways to get more
customer traffic for absolutely nothing.

The book is going to be a really great deal too.

Hey Joshua,

This will eventually hurt the
business. I have been to many
blogs where it is such a
process to leave a comment on
a great topic.

After many attempts to sign
on, I would leave the blog and not return.

You would rather do business
at the bank where they make
you feel good about coming
rather than the one with the
armed guards.

The difference between both examples, the nice bank and the blog with easy navigation makes you want to come back again.

Great information!

Thanks Tommy. You are totally right. I just don’t understand why so many business owners feel the need to scare the crap out of their customers right when they walk in the door.

So very true Joshua. When sites are not user friendly, there is no incentive to stick around. If you think about it you aren’t really tasering your customers in the neck when your site is hard to maneuver.

You are tasering yourself in the neck. People won’t stick around when they can’t figure things out on your site. So truly it hurts you not the customer. Which is even less smart than tasering someone else. :)
