7 Insane Customer Magnets That Even My Dog Wouldn’t Touch

My dog, the expert marketing teacher

by Joshua Black

I hope you’re paying attention today,
because this list is going to be something
that you will want to print out and
tape to the front of your refrigerator.

If you want to get a big ‘ol bag of
customers dropped on your front porch
like the stork dropping off a newborn
baby, then keep on reading.

Now, of course my dog is a marketing
expert as you all know from previous Tip
Sheets, but what you may not know is
that there are marketing activities that
he REFUSES to take part in.

Now of course he can’t participate in ANY
marketing activity…duh…he’s a DOG!
But you, my friend can benefit a TON from
these.

So, today I’m going to share with you 7
different techniques that you can use
in order to bring in new customers like
rats brought the plague.

…ok maybe that was a crappy analogy, but
you’ll get the idea in a second.
Anyway, here we go:

1. Do what P.T. Barnum did. Stage some kind
of outrageous event that will draw a crowd
and then pitch your business at the end.

2. Work on keeping your current customers,
not just focusing on getting new ones. Keeping
customers is FREE.

3. Never let your customers forget about you.
This is the heart of every good marketing plan.
Keep marketing to them until one of 3 things
happens: They die, they ask to quit, or they
move (and you have a local business).

4. Give your customers the biggest promise that
you can make
with your unique selling proposition
(USP). This is a statement that will be the
foundation of your entire marketing plan. Learn
more about that here:
http://www.ultimateUSPcreator.com

5. Specialize, specialize, specialize. Become
the only life coach for bowlers, or the only
landscaper for agoraphobics, or maybe the only
internet store that sells toothpicks.

6. Position your business in the mind of
the customer as the ONLY one on Earth that can solve
his/her problem.

7. Reward your customers for coming back.
Now, I’m telling you all of this, because I have
a little something up my sleeve that I have been
working on for a few months now.

I have a new product coming out that will hand
you 101 different ways to generate a ton of new
customers into your business, for FREE.

Some of the ways are listed above, but I go into
minute detail in the book.

Make sure you sign up as an Underdog Millionaire,
because on the day of the book release I am
going to give a serious discount to loyal members
only (this product is going to be expensive, but
probably worth 100X your investment).

By the way, that picture up there is my dog, the marketing genius.

So, let’s here it from you… share with the rest of us. What are 2 more insane customer magnets that you can share with us?  Post them below in the comments.

Then, when you are done commenting, Tweet about it to get yourself some free credit and some great traffic.

Until tomorrow,

Joshua Black

Firstly: landscaper for agoraphobics – hahahaha that’s Gold!
Fantastic tips here, and it’s helping me define my USP a little more, which is still a work in progress, but definitely have to agree that the more specialised the better – to a point maybe.

Brilliant, and printed! Nice to see that your dog is involved in your business.

Ha – I am not sure how to really generated traffic – so far, I have just found people that I would like to talk to and left comments on their blogs.

Looking forward to the rest of them!

Have a great day!

@Mark -That’s exactly how you generate blogging traffic. You keep the conversation going. New bloggers don’t realize that they cannot do it alone. You have to have a network of people to prop yourselves up and to help each other out. That’s where it helps to re-tweet and post reviews, buy each other’s stuff etc. Pretty soon the snowball just keeps growing. I’m living proof.

Thanks for stopping by.

Joshua,

Enjoyed reading the tips today.

I especially like #6 because of the way i run my business. I do position my business this way and have kept customers because of this.

I do reward my customers for coming back and reward them for referrals.

Have a great day,
Tommy D.

Hi Joshua, found your site from Alex’s Dirty Dozen.

Can I please hire your dog as my virtual assistant I need some reliable help!

I am intrigued about your next product so will keep a look out for it.

Hmmm ways to keep your customers, give them big commissions to promote your products, then everyone is happy, maybe even the dog,

Sally :)

@Sally,

Thanks for stopping by. Sure, I think we could work something out with the dog as your virtual assistant. He would be even cheaper than those guys overseas. He just works for biscuits. However, I must warn you that I cannot guarantee that any of his work will smell very good, or come back without any drool or teeth marks. If you can handle that, I will see if he is old enough to sign a contract (He’s only 2)… not sure about dog rules and contracts…

Really gearing up for the next product. Don’t worry, I will make a lot of noise when it comes out, so you won’t miss it.

Joshua,
I love this post. The driving force behind every successful business is the customers served. Without customers…business don’t exist.

I also reward my landscaping customers every time they send me a new referral. It’s the greatest compliment a business owner can get.

You have a great business mind. Although I don’t get over here as often as I would like to, every time I pop in, I take away valuable information.

Thanks again…

Anne

I believe it is the same for blogging. By rewarding commentators, they come back to you. By rewarding I mean stopping by their blog and seeing what’s new and the latest n’ greatest. Then commenting on it.

Joshua,
Only found your site today…and absolutely loved it. I got some great ideas from this post (and I also enjoyed your sense of humor) and may others on your blog.
Only planned to be here for this post but have already spent 45 minutes of learning mixed with fun and expertise.
Will be back as I have not finished going over all the great stuff you have. I only hope that I can one day create a site as appealing (and profitable!) as yours.
Actually I have already enrolled in your newsletter and thanks so much for the inspiration you have given this 65 year-old retired “newbie”…great stuff mate.
Right now I am struggling to create some unique, interesting and very attractive product that is of good value to people that I can giveaway in order to start my list building process. Any ideas/suggestions would be really appreciated!

Peter,

Thank you for stopping by. Glad you found the site. The best advice that I can give about creating a product for list-building is that it needs to be something of value to the customer. You should create a product that solves a problem that your customer already had. You should solve a problem that has something to do with your business and the products that you will eventually charge money for. I would suggest checking out my Information Product Report at the link on the side, or you can go to the sales page here: http://www.information-product-report.com

Create a small report that shows your customers one, single problem that they can solve right now and you should be on your way to building your list.

G’Day Joshua,
I must have missed this post earlier. It really is so good to see so much sound, essential information in one place There’s a lot of trendy waffle on the web. When I see stuff such as in this post I’m reminded of that wonderful saying,”nothing is more important than the proper execution of the fundamentals.”

Make sure you have fun.

Regards

Leon

Joshua Black

Hi Leon,

Yep, it’s true. You can’t ignore the fundamentals. Without them, you are building a fortress on a shakey foundation.
