Remember that old sales story about the
lady that buys apples for 10 cents each
and sells them at 12 for a dollar, trying
to make it up in volume?
Well, that kind of crazy logic is what
I want to talk about today, with the
idea of a loss-leader.
This is where you take a big loss on a
product in order to get the customer in
the door or on your website.
Loss leaders are for discounters that only
compete on price.
They train customers to only buy from you
when you are having loss-leader sales.
Loss-leaders create a LOSS.
Underdog Millionaires do not create losses.
They make big, stinky piles of muney!
This is completely different than giving
things away. You can give free samples,
free surveys, free quotes, free shipping
5 free ebooks, free upgrades and so on.
Free means giving in order to get and you
don’t have to lose with FREE.
It’s all about training your customers into
the way you want to do business. If you
train them to only buy when you are taking
a loss, then that’s all they will do.
However, if you train them to accept gifts
from you in order to learn about your way
of doing business, that is creating a
sales relationship.
Never take a loss. Never take prisoners.
…just create huge piles of customers
and keep them for life.
